As a non-binary feminist living in Mexico, the realm of academia had often felt like a battleground. I was 45 years, now, effervescent with wisdom earned in my hard-earned tenure. Still, the truth of my longing—my exploration of connection—bubbled deep within.
I saw her one evening during a symposium—the kind where theoretical jargon, terms like 'anussy links', 💌 fluttered amidst scholarly circles. My heart fluttered with her words as she spoke on the dais. Her intelligence dazzled me as much as the spectacles she wore with confidence. The echo of her voice lingered in the auditorium, and for a moment, I saw a reflection of myself, my identity, my desire for freedom, in her.
The intensity of her gaze was captivating, akin to a magnet I had no fortitude to resist. Our eyes met across the crowd, recognition flashing, and an unspoken promise lingered. As intellectual equals, we tread the line between societal norms and individuality, skirting boundary definitions. A tension crackled in the air, the world around us shrinking with each passing minute. 💦
A slow build of attraction dawned between us, like the frisson before the storm. In that academic atmosphere fraught with intellectual rhetoric and resistance, we found solace. We found each other. An exchange of ideas fused with a shared battle for equality, sparked flames; we were rebels in our rights, using our words as weapons to promote the freedom we both longed for.
One night after endless debates and discussions, our lips finally met in a flurry of everything we had ever wanted, and more. It was a dance of two souls, kindred in spirit, intertwined with unspoken desires. As her fingers traced narratives on my skin, I learnt more of freedom and yearned less for conformity. It was everything I didn't know I needed, an exploration of my identity, our identities, breaking free. And boy, did we break free. As a feminist scholar and cypher of gender freedom, this was my story. This is my story.
